Greetings Fellow Travelers ...
Sometimes you just got to be silly.
Don't ask me why.
I Dreamed I was a Two by Four
I dreamed I was a two by four
Still stuck inside a tree
Someone said, "You can be more!"
And began to rescue me.
I felt the crash against the ground
Then my old home did lie
Upon the earth, without a sound
Others like me laying by.
The birds had ceased to make a mess
so rude, I tell you friend
To my relief, the filthy spray
Finally had an end.
I swooned as I was lifted high
and placed upon the truck
How very, very pleased was I
To have found such wondrous luck!
I feared a bit as on we went
Along with other trees
Till, Oh!, at last our journey spent
We ran through the mill with ease.
How glad I was to no longer see
The birds, (don't mean to grouse)
Use a fine piece of wood like me
For a stinky old outhouse?
But I don't understand, what am I to be?
I don't want to be so snotty
But can you, friend, explain to me
What is a Port-a-Potty?

I am not familiar with that piece but I may have to look it up!

The line "I dreamed I was a two by four" just popped into my mind one day. The rest came a couple of weeks later.Wierd, huh?
Very nice, especially the last bit. Reminds me of the old Arab proverb of an old man in the desert who dreams to be surrounded by gold and a beautiful woman and winds up being a diamond ring. Very well done.Wow! I thought it had more of a "What? Me worry?" slant, kind of an Alfred E. Newman piece.Thank you, Michael.
You should be silly more often Ken. It works for ya! I thoroughly enjoyed your poem. Made me smile. :)Thank you, Brianna. It seems that I have little or no control over my "silly side," but my wife has learned to cope!
